Registered Manager - Children's Home (SEMH & Behavioural Needs)
Location: Heywood, Rochdale, Greater Manchester
Salary: 50,000 per annum starting salary (plus performance-related bonuses)

Home Capacity: 3 children (aged 7-17)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and resilient Registered Manager to lead a new residential children's home supporting up to three children aged 7-17 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who have experienced trauma and adversity. You will be responsible for establishing and managing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment that uses a trauma-informed approach to help children build trust, resilience, and positive relationships.
As Registered Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the home's operation, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations while promoting a culture of empathy, consistency, and therapeutic care.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and motivate a team of residential childcare professionals.
Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted and Children's Homes Regulations.
Embed trauma-informed and therapeutic practices throughout the home.
Develop and maintain personalised care plans focused on each child's needs and aspirations.
Promote a child-centred, inclusive environment where every young person can thrive.
Manage staffing, budgets, and resources effectively.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with local authorities, families, and external professionals.
Drive continuous improvement and uphold high standards of care and compliance.
Requirements
Proven experience in a residential children's care setting, as a senior, Deputy Manager or Registered Manager.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
Strong knowledge of Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding, and children's legislation.
Experience supporting children with SEMH and behavioural needs using a trauma-informed approach.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
