Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Children's Manager to oversee the care and well-being of children with Emotional Disability Behaviour within our facility. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in senior care, EDB, particularly in environments such as assisted living, nursing homes, or care homes. This role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to providing high-quality care tailored to the individual needs of each child, including those with specific conditions such as EDB, dementia or Alzheimer's.

Responsibilities



Develop and implement comprehensive care plans that meet the unique needs of each child. Supervise and manage staff to ensure adherence to best practices in care delivery. Provide leadership and support to the team, fostering a positive working environment. Oversee medication administration and ensure compliance with health regulations. Maintain accurate records of care activities and assessments. Engage with families to provide updates on their children's progress and well-being. Conduct regular training sessions for staff on topics such as emotional disability behaviour care, dementia care and effective communication strategies. Ensure that the facility meets all regulatory requirements and maintains high standards of safety and hygiene.

Experience



Core Experience Requirements

Minimum of 5 years' experience working in children's residential care or related fields such as learning disabilities, EBD, autism, mental health, or complex needs. At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role within a children's home or similar care setting. Demonstrated knowledge of safeguarding procedures, child protection legislation, and regulatory standards (especially the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015).
Qualifications and Competence

Must hold or be working towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Proven ability to manage regulated activities under the Care Standards Act 2000 and Health and Social Care Act 2008. Must be of good character, with strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills Familiarity with developing care plans tailored for children with varying needs, including those requiring specialised dementia or Alzheimer's care. Experience in medication administration within a care environment is advantageous. Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with families, staff, and external agencies.
