We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Children's Manager to oversee the daily operations of our children's residential homes. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and management skills and a compassionate approach to managing children's care services. This role involves supervising staff, developing care plans, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and wellbeing for children in our care. The successful applicant will be committed to fostering a nurturing environment that promotes growth, safety, and dignity for all children.
Responsibilities
Provide strong leadership and management to ensure the highest standards of care for children and young people.
Ensure compliance with CIW, Children's Homes (Wales) Regulations 2017, and Quality Standards.
Supervise and support care staff, providing guidance on best practices.
Promote safeguarding and child protection practices in all aspects of care delivery.
Develop, monitor, and review care plans and placement plans tailored to each child's individual needs.
Manage staff recruitment, supervision, performance, and ongoing professional development.
Build positive relationships with external professionals, local authorities, families, and stakeholders.
Lead CIW inspections, audits, and continuous improvement processes.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and reports.
Experience
/ Requirements
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (or working towards it).
At least 2 years' experience in a senior role within a children's residential setting.
Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children's Homes (Wales) Regulations 2017.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to participate in the on-call rota.
Ability to inspire and motivate staff while maintaining a child-centred approach.
Desirable:
Experience in therapeutic or trauma-informed care settings.
Knowledge of CIW inspection frameworks and quality assurance systems.
