About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced
Registered Children's Home Manager
to lead the setup and ongoing operations of a brand-new 5-bedroom children's home in
Sevenoaks, Kent
. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping a high-quality, nurturing environment for young people, ensuring outstanding care standards and regulatory compliance from the outset.
The home will comprise
3 children's bedrooms
,
1 staff room
, and
1 activity room
, designed to create a safe, structured, and supportive setting where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the registration process with Ofsted and ensure full compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation.
Develop and implement effective care plans and behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs.
Recruit, train, and manage a skilled team, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
Ensure the home operates in line with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
Promote a culture of safeguarding, therapeutic support, and continuous improvement.
Liaise with local authorities, families, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.
Manage budgets, resources, and administrative duties to support the smooth running of the home.
Deliver exceptional leadership with a strong focus on quality assurance and care excellence.
Requirements
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
(or equivalent) - Essential
Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager
within a children's residential setting - Essential
Proven track record with Ofsted
and a clear understanding of regulatory requirements - Essential
Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
Passionate about improving the lives of young people in care
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
