Salary:
Hourly rate is between 19-22 with a slight enhancement for nights duties and also double pay for bank holidays. We also offer paid breaks
Hours:
Day and night, 12 hour shifts, plus the willingness to do extra shifts to cover holidays if needed.( not mandatory)

Aim of Post: -
To provide a high standard of care through good nursing practice. To participate in the supervision and education of junior colleagues. To support the senior staff in the management of the home.
The post carries shift responsibilities for:-
To manage your shift as nurse in charge of the care staff and thus ensuring the residents needs are met.
The post holder will be expected to: -
Carry out all relevant forms of nursing care.Be able to demonstrate the home's procedures to staff.

Duties will include care of the residents, distribution of medicine, delegation of duties to staff and supporting the management team with any other duties as required. To ensure all activities within the home are in keeping with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of professional conduct. To participate in the development and maintenance high standards of nursing care within the Home. Contribute to and assist the management of the nursing services within the Home. Provide clinical nursing as required within the Home. Participate in and contribute to the teaching requirements of the Home. Implement and follow agreed policies and procedures in the Home.
Keep abreast of clinical development. Ensure the care activities are research based and in keeping with changes in the field of nursing. Subject to relevant policies, take part in the development and trial of new ideas and methods in the Home for the improvement of services provided. Maintain custody of drugs, checking and witnessing the administration of drugs and medicines according to nursing policy. Order drugs for residents when required. Repeat prescriptions usually ordered monthly. Carry out nursing procedures and treatments. Supervise professional work of care staff. Prepare for and receive reports at changeover of shift. Carry out General Practitioners instructions. Report conditions of residents to Managers and the resident's GP. Communicate with relatives and other visitors in the Home. Participate in meetings convened by Manager. Undertake any other duties as requested by the Manager. To keep adequate records of resident care including, Observation charts, Care Plans, Accident Report Forms and render statistical information as required.
Support the management team in introducing new members of staff to their duties ensuring that all staff are familiar with policies and Procedures. Promote good relationships between the staff, residents, their relatives and other visitors. Take all steps possible to safeguard the welfare, health and safety of all staff, residents and visitors at all times in accordance with local policy.
