We have an excellent opportunity to join our team at Avon View as a Registered General Nurse.


Avon View is a residential home on the outskirts of Christchurch offering accommodation for clients over 3 floors providing nursing, palliative, residential and dementia care. We work in a person-centred way providing support for people living with complex care needs.


The successful candidate will have substantial experience in a nursing role in a care setting ensuring compliance with CCG monitoring and CQC standards. Good communication skills with the ability to effectively manage workloads. Knowledge of relevant Community Care legislation and Health & Safety. IT system knowledge with the ability to maintain accurate records. Registered General Nurse with a current PIN and registered with the NMC.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Undertaking the assessment of complex nursing needs in accordance with policies and procedures, with the involvement of other professionals and families as appropriate. Administering medication including medication administered by injection and pain relief and undertaking medical procedures as appropriate including catheter care, venepuncture, wound care, syringe driver care. Supporting the delivery of services including palliative care to the terminally ill.

Essential skills required:

Registered General Nurse with a current PIN and registered with the NMC. Knowledge and understanding of relevant Care regulations and legislation including Health & Safety and Adult Safeguarding. Experience of working in a care setting, care planning and implementation ensuring compliance with CQC regulations. NVQ/QCF Level 4/5 in Health and Social Care qualification is desirable. Competent IT skills with the ability to write reports and maintain accurate records.
