We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered General Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience across various specialties, including critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and outpatient settings. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care, performing assessments, administering treatments, and ensuring adherence to healthcare standards such as HIPAA and NCQA. Candidates with experience in hospital environments, long-term care facilities, assisted living, or specialized units like ICU, PICU, or trauma centers are encouraged to apply. A strong understanding of medical documentation systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks is preferred.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
Administer medications and injections accurately following aseptic techniques and medication protocols.
Manage airway care, ventilator support, IV infusions, catheterization (including Foley and other types), and tube feeding procedures.
Perform diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection/processing, sonography, mammography, and radiologic procedures.
Document patient care activities meticulously in EMR/EHR systems ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
Provide acute pain management and participate in discharge planning for inpatient and outpatient cases.
Assist with complex procedures including suturing, spinal taps, gastroscopy/lavage, ostomy care, and dermal filler administration.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for case management in diverse settings such as hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health, memory care, or infectious disease care.
Support patients across the lifespan including neonatal ventilator management, pediatric care (including toddler care), adult acute care units (ICU/Trauma), and senior/geriatric populations in long-term care or assisted living environments.
Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
Educate patients and families on health coaching topics such as nutrition, disease management (e.g., diabetes or cardiac conditions), family planning, or post-acute care instructions.
Skills
Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology relevant to diverse clinical settings.
Skilled in performing invasive procedures including IV insertion/venipuncture and catheter care.
Ability to manage complex cases involving trauma medicine (Level I & II trauma centers), emergency room scenarios (urgent care experience preferred), or specialized fields like cardiology (cardiac catheterization) or nephrology (dialysis).
Familiarity with infection control protocols and sterile processing techniques.
Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to work effectively with people of all ages--including children with developmental disabilities or neonatal patients requiring ventilator support.
Knowledge of CPT/ICD coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
Compassionate communication skills suitable for working with vulnerable populations such as dementia/dementia care residents or hospice patients.
Ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments like teaching hospitals or outpatient clinics.
