Overview


We are seeking dedicated and compassionate

Registered General Nurses (RGNs)

to join our team at The Old Rectory. We have opportunities for:

Part-time and full-time Day Nurses

Night Nurse (Thursday only)


You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred care, leading and supporting care teams, and ensuring the clinical wellbeing of our residents.

Main Purpose of the Role



To provide high standards of person-centred clinical and personal care to residents. To lead, supervise, and support care teams in delivering safe, dignified, and respectful care. To collaborate with Clinical Managers in delivering high-quality nursing care. To act as a positive role model, demonstrating the values and standards of The Old Rectory.

Main ResponsibilitiesClinical Care and Leadership



Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to all residents. Lead your shift, providing professional handovers and clear direction to Senior Carers and Carers. Maintain thorough knowledge of each resident's care plan and risk assessments. Monitor residents' clinical conditions, promptly reporting and acting on changes. Administer medications safely and in line with NMC guidelines, supervising Senior Carers where appropriate. Liaise effectively with GPs, therapists, and other external professionals to optimise resident care. Maintain accurate records on digital systems in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Communication and Collaboration



Build strong, respectful relationships with residents, families, and colleagues. Participate in staff meetings, clinical reviews, and multidisciplinary discussions. Promote clear, empathetic, and effective communication at all times.

Training and Development



Support and mentor junior staff, demonstrating best practice. Participate in training sessions and maintain up-to-date professional knowledge.

Health & Safety and Compliance



Adhere to The Old Rectory's Health & Safety Policy, Emergency Procedures, and Infection Control standards. Report hazards, faulty equipment, or incidents immediately to the Clinical or Home Manager. Follow NMC Code of Conduct, CQC standards, and all relevant legislation.

General Duties



Act in a supervisory role, ensuring the smooth running of the home during your shift. Maintain confidentiality and safeguard residents at all times. Support the home's good reputation through professionalism and kindness.

Person Specification



Essential:



Current NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse. Demonstrable experience in delivering clinical care to older people. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to person-centred, compassionate care.

Desirable:



Previous experience in a care home or similar setting. Knowledge of CQC compliance requirements. Experience supervising or mentoring care staff.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 18.50-23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 40 per week
