Permanent, 36 hours per week - nights
The Royal Naval Benevolent Trust is a Royal Navy & Royal Marines charity that gives help, in cases of need, to serving and former Royal Naval ratings and Royal Marines. We also help their partners, children and some others connected with them. The RNBT has a family-run feel and we have carefully created a supportive, friendly and close-knit team making it a unique and very special place to work.
Pembroke House is a purpose-built care home for veterans of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines in Gillingham. We have been serving Royal Navy and Royal Marines veterans and their dependants for 70 years. Our residents and staff enjoy a varied yet familiar way of life to encourage independence and give each day meaning and purpose.
We are currently on an 18-month journey with Meaningful Care Matters to enhance the care we give to our residents and give them that extra special homely feel.
Can you make someone feel special? Will you turn the radio up and put on your dancing shoes? Are you looking for a Nursing role where it is about the person and not the tasks?
We have a very different approach to delivering care and are now seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team at Pembroke House.
Reporting to the Clinical Lead, this role provides a critical support to our residents who live as part of our family. We have adopted "The Butterfly Approach" and our care model is based on valuing individuals.
We are one family; we wear our own clothes and recognise the contribution that every single one of our team can make.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Offering support and companionship to our residents
Providing personal care
Supporting mealtimes and ensuring our residents enjoy a nutritious, balanced diet
Liaising with relatives and enhancing the quality of life of our residents
Administering medication
Creating and maintaining Care Plans
Supporting the whole home with Nursing needs
This role would suit a highly organised individual, preferably with experience in a care home environment. The role is fast-paced and varied, so an ability to manage changing priorities and be responsive is essential. Our team have built their experience across a wide range of sectors and we strive to be as inclusive as possible to drive diversity across the Trust.
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a generous suite of benefits to our employees including
Dress down, wear your own clothes
6 weeks holiday per annum pro rata
7% Employer Contribution Pension Scheme
Cycle to Work Scheme
Free on-site parking
Eligibility for Blue Light Card
