As a Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in the overall care of our residents, including responsibilities such as
catheter care
,
stoma care
,
risk assessments
, and managing
medications
. You will also
supervise and train Health Care Assistants (HCAs)
and contribute to the smooth running of the home by overseeing medication processes and supply management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and monitor residents' health and wellbeing, including vital signs and medical histories
Conduct and document
risk assessments
to ensure resident safety and appropriate care planning
Provide expert
catheter
and
stoma care
, ensuring hygiene, comfort, and early detection of complications
Administer and monitor the
intake of medications
, ensuring safe and timely delivery
Request prescriptions
as required and ensure continuity of medication supply
Monitor medication stock levels
, check expiry dates, and
order medications
to maintain adequate supplies
Develop, review, and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with the wider healthcare team
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in accordance with legal and clinical standards
Supervise and support Health Care Assistants (HCAs)
, promoting best practices and delivering training when needed
Educate and support residents and their families in understanding care needs and treatment plans
Foster a safe, respectful, and compassionate environment for all residents and colleagues
Participate in regular training and ongoing professional development
Requirements:
Valid registration as a
Registered Nurse
with the relevant regulatory body
Proven experience or strong knowledge in
catheter and stoma care
, and
medication management
Confidence in conducting
risk assessments
and handling prescription-related tasks
Experience supervising and mentoring care staff in a clinical or aged care setting
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
