About the Role:
As the
Registered Home Manager
, you will be the registered individual with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), holding ultimate accountability for the service. You will provide strategic direction, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead a team of dedicated
healthcare
professionals, including
Deputy Managers
,
Clinical Leads
, and
RGNs/RMNs
.
Key Responsibilities:
Hold full responsibility as the
CQC Registered Manager
for the service, ensuring full compliance with all CQC regulations and fundamental standards.
Provide strong, inspirational leadership to the entire home, including
care home
staff,
clinical
teams, and ancillary workers.
Oversee the delivery of high-quality, person-centred
elderly care
and
nursing
care.
Manage the home's budget, resources, and occupancy levels to ensure financial sustainability and growth.
Recruit, train, mentor, and develop your senior team, including the
Deputy Manager
and
Clinical Lead
.
Foster a positive and open culture that promotes dignity, respect, and safety for all residents and staff.
Act as the primary point of contact for residents, families, and external
healthcare
professionals.
Drive continuous improvement through audits, quality assurance, and implementation of best practices.
What We Are Looking For (Essential Requirements):
A minimum of
3 years' proven experience
as a
CQC Registered Manager
.
A successful history of leading a service to a
Good
or
Outstanding
CQC rating.
In-depth knowledge of the
Health and Social Care Act 2008
, CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs), and all relevant legislation.
Significant experience in
care home management
, preferably within a
nursing home
setting.
A strong understanding of
clinical
governance and experience working with
RGNs
,
RMNs
, and
clinical
teams.
Exceptional leadership and business management skills with experience managing
Deputy Managers
and senior staff.
A relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care) or equivalent.
Desirable Skills:
A background as a
Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN)
with an active
NMC PIN
is highly advantageous.
Experience in business development and marketing to maintain high occupancy.
