About the Role



We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Registered Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our new residential children's home, which supports young people aged 7-17 living with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), learning disabilities and trauma. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the home operates in full compliance with The Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and exceeds the Quality Standards, promoting the well-being, development, and empowerment of every child in our care. You will have the autonomy to shape the team culture and build effective relationships with external bodies.

Key Responsibilities



Lead, manage, and motivate a team of residential childcare workers and deputy managers, providing strong, motivational leadership and professional development opportunities. Ensure the safety and well-being of all young people, maintaining oversight of safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory reporting (Regulation 44 and 45 reviews). Manage the home's budget, resources, and facilities, ensuring sustainability and viability. Collaborate effectively with local authorities, social services, education providers, and families to achieve positive outcomes for children. Lead the home and team through Ofsted registration and all future inspections, with a goal of achieving 'Good' or 'Outstanding' ratings. Develop and implement individualised, person-centred care and support plans based on each child's needs.

Person Specification

Requirements



A minimum of 2 years of management experience within a children's residential home setting. Experience with Ofsted within the children's residential home sector, with a track record of achieving positive inspection outcomes. In-depth knowledge of relevant childcare legislation, government guidance, and best practices. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills. A full UK manual driving license.

Qualifications



Essential:

A QCF/NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification recognised by the Children's Homes Regulations 2015).

Essential:

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve this as part of our company funded training opportunities).
