Job Title: Registered Manager - Residential Care Home (22 Beds)

Job Overview

We are seeking a committed and experienced Registered Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our 22-bed CIW-registered residential care home. This role is central to ensuring the delivery of safe, person-centred, and high-quality care for adults with varying needs, including dementia and age-related conditions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential adult care, with the leadership skills required to inspire and develop a committed care team. You will be responsible for the home's overall performance, ensuring compliance with the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 and other relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Provide effective leadership and oversight of the care home's daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and best practice in all areas.

Ensure care and support are delivered in line with residents' individual care and support plans, with a focus on dignity, independence, and wellbeing.

Take accountability for the quality and safety of care provision and ensure a culture of continuous improvement is embedded within the service.

Supervise, mentor, and manage staff performance, ensuring appropriate training, professional development, and support.

Maintain robust and compliant documentation, including personal plans, risk assessments, incident reports, and quality audits.

Work in partnership with residents, families, health professionals, CIW inspectors, and other stakeholders to ensure person-centred care delivery.

Monitor staffing levels, rotas, and recruitment needs to ensure safe and consistent care provision.

Lead on safeguarding, complaints, and incident investigations, ensuring timely resolution and regulatory reporting where required.

Promote a positive, inclusive culture within the service, ensuring the home is a welcoming, supportive, and enabling environment.

Attend CIW inspections, quality audits, and contribute to the service's Statement of Purpose and Quality of Care Review (QCR).

Essential Requirements

Previous experience in a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager role within a residential adult care setting.

In-depth knowledge of the Regulated Services (Service Providers and Responsible Individuals) (Wales) Regulations 2017.

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults' Residential Management) Wales - or working towards.

Sound understanding of dementia care and complex needs within a residential environment.

Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop care teams.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with families, staff, professionals, and regulators.

Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach to compliance and service development.

A commitment to person-centred care and continual service improvement.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 38,000.00 per year
