Job Description

Purpose of the Role



To promote a compassionate, person-centred environment where high-quality care supports the physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs of people receiving care at home. To ensure that every service user receives care tailored to their individual needs and preferences. To implement and maintain full compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. To uphold and embed all CarePride policies, procedures, and values into everyday practice across the organisation.

Principal Responsibilities1. Day-to-Day Operations



a) Manage the daily running of CarePride's domiciliary care service and act as the designated person-in-charge when required.
b) Provide information, guidance, and service leaflets to prospective service users and arrange initial home visits.
c) Organise assessments and follow-up visits as required.
d) Determine whether CarePide can safely and effectively meet the assessed needs of new service users and negotiate appropriate fees where relevant.
e) Ensure each new service user receives written "terms and conditions" and confirm that they--and where appropriate, their representative--fully understand them.
f) Investigate complaints promptly, take appropriate action, and report outcomes to the Registered Provider, Local Authority, or CQC as required.
g) Liaise and cooperate fully with CQC inspectors and inspection processes.
h) Liaise with Local Authority commissioning, monitoring, and contract compliance teams when required.

2. Service User Care



a) Ensure that the emotional, physical, medical, spiritual, and social needs of each person receiving care are assessed, recognised, and met.
b) Support service users to make informed decisions regarding their care and lifestyle.
c) Lead or contribute to individual assessments and develop person-centred Care Plans in collaboration with service users, families, and relevant professionals.
d) Promote independence and community engagement, enabling service users to maintain links with their local community.
e) Oversee medication management processes, including safe ordering, recording, storage, and administration where appropriate.
f) Work with the Registered Provider to ensure service users' nutritional, cultural, and domestic needs are met, and that high standards of hygiene and home-care support are maintained.
g) Ensure safe and compassionate delivery of all care, including end-of-life support where applicable, under GP and community nursing guidance.
h) Safeguard adults at risk by identifying, reporting, and responding immediately to any concerns, following CarePride's safeguarding policies and statutory guidance.

3. Staff Management



a) Assist the Registered Provider in the recruitment, selection, and deployment of care staff.
b) Ensure effective communication with and between staff, including organising regular team meetings.
c) Oversee staff induction, ongoing supervision, performance reviews, and continuous development.
d) Ensure compliance with employment legislation and CarePride HR policies.
e) Create and maintain staff rotas to ensure safe service coverage.
f) Ensure all staff maintain appropriate training, skills, and qualifications to deliver safe, high-quality care.

4. Health, Safety & Premises (Home-Care Environment)



a) Report any issues relating to equipment, staff safety, or service users' home environments to the Registered Provider.
b) Ensure compliance with fire safety, emergency procedures, and relevant risk assessments.
c) Ensure adherence to legislation involving infection control, environmental health, and health and safety, and advise the Registered Provider where further action is needed.
d) Assess service users' homes for risks and provide staff with clear guidance on safe working practices.

5. Finance & Administration


Support service users to manage their own finances wherever possible.
Ensure that, where a service user lacks capacity to manage their finances, any financial handling is completed legally, safely, and with full transparency and recorded evidence.

Person Specification -- Essential Criteria



Candidates must demonstrate:

At least two years' experience in a senior role within care management in the past five years. A recognised care management qualification (or willingness to complete Skills for Care-approved training within six months of appointment). Strong sense of responsibility and professional accountability. Effective leadership skills. Self-motivation, flexibility, compassion, and excellent organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure, both mentally and physically. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills. Commitment to delivering and maintaining high standards of care. Commitment to training and personal development.

Pay: 38,000.00 per year
