Registered Manager | Children's Residential | South West | 55-70K + Bonus Scheme
We're recruiting for a confident, values-led Registered Manager to take full ownership of a brand-new, 4-bed therapeutic EBD children's home currently in pre-registration. This is a full-time, permanent role leading a standalone Ofsted-regulated home with a clear remit: to get it registered, staffed, and ready the right way.
The provider has strong leadership in place (RI and Director) and is offering real autonomy for the incoming Registered Manager to shape the team, embed culture, and drive registration. This isn't a turnaround job. It's a clean start. You'll be given the space and support to lead, not just keep things ticking.
This is a Monday-to-Friday role with some on-call. Relocators will be considered if the fit and timing are right.
As Registered Manager, you will:
Lead the full Ofsted registration process (SC1/SC2, policy, pre-inspection setup)
Build your staff team from scratch, including recruitment and onboarding
Set up training, rotas, risk assessments, and early care planning systems
Promote a safe, therapeutic, and consistent model of care for children with EBD
Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, LADO, and children's home regulations
Work closely with the RI and Director on governance, audit, and mock inspection readiness
Take full operational responsibility once the home opens and placements begin
Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead and escalation point for internal risk
Embed a values-led, trauma-informed culture from day one
Provide visible, accountable leadership and inspire confidence in your new team
What we're looking for:
Minimum 2 years' experience in a residential children's home
At least 1 year in a supervisory or Registered Manager role
Experience working in an Ofsted-regulated EBD or therapeutic setting
Level 5 in Leadership & Management (Children & Young People) or close to completion
Confident in registering a home and leading compliance with The Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
Excellent safeguarding knowledge and calm, hands-on leadership style
Able to manage multiple priorities, from recruitment and training to inspections and policies
Emotionally intelligent and confident, navigating inspection, audit, and governance
Based within 30 miles of the service, or open to relocating
In return, you'll receive:
Salary of 55,000-70,000 (depending on experience)
Performance-based bonus scheme, including layout and occupancy bonuses
Autonomy to lead the service your way, with the right support in place
Flexible onboarding, they'll wait for the right person (up to 12 weeks)
Clear scope to grow as the business expands
2-stage interview process
This role is ideal for a Registered Manager (or strong Deputy) who is ready to take the reins, register a new home, and build something safe, consistent, and lasting from day one.
