Registered Manager – Domiciliary Care

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and compassionate Registered Manager to lead and manage our domiciliary care service. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the service is safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led in accordance with CQC standards. You will oversee the delivery of high-quality care to clients in their own homes, lead and support a team of care professionals, and ensure the business remains compliant and sustainable.

Key Responsibilities:Operational Management:

- Register with the CQC as the Nominated Registered Manager.

- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including Health & Social Care Act 2008.

- Oversee day-to-day running of the service, including care delivery, staffing, scheduling, and performance monitoring.

- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality assurance systems.

Care Quality and Compliance:

- Ensure care plans are person-centred, risk assessed, and regularly reviewed.

- Conduct audits, spot checks, and service reviews to ensure standards are consistently met or exceeded.

- Lead on safeguarding, health and safety, medication management, and complaints investigations.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice, legislation, and CQC key lines of enquiry (KLOEs).

Staff Leadership and Development:

- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of care coordinators, team leaders, and care workers.

- Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals, and performance reviews.

- Foster a supportive, open, and values-led culture across the team.

- Ensure all staff receive mandatory training and ongoing development.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement:

- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, healthcare professionals, and local authorities.

- Promote client satisfaction through regular communication and feedback systems.

- Represent the service at external meetings, forums, and inspections.

Business Development and Strategy:

- Support growth through service development, tenders, and partnership building.

- Monitor financial performance and contribute to budgeting and cost control.

- Work collaboratively with senior management to achieve business objectives.

Person Specification:Essential:

- NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent).

- At least 2 years' experience in a managerial role in domiciliary care or similar.

- Strong understanding of CQC regulations and standards.

- Proven ability to lead and motivate staff teams.

- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Commitment to person-centred care and continuous improvement.

- Clear DBS check and right to work in the UK.

Desirable:

- Experience working with local authority contracts and frameworks.

- Previous experience with electronic care management systems (e.g., PASS, CarePlanner).

- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice.

Pay: 30,282.97-40,000.00 per year
