The Registered Manager will provide strong, professional leadership and management of the children's home in line with Ofsted regulations, the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards. They will ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support to children and young people, promoting their safety, welfare, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the children's home.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, national minimum standards, and company policies.
Lead, motivate, and develop a skilled team to deliver excellent standards of care.
Manage budgets, resources, and rota planning effectively.
Safeguarding and Welfare
Ensure safeguarding practices are embedded in the home and adhered to at all times.
Promote a culture where children's rights, welfare, and voices are central to care planning and decision-making.
Oversee effective risk assessments, care plans, and behaviour management strategies.
Quality and Compliance
Maintain high standards of practice in line with Ofsted inspection frameworks.
Monitor, evaluate, and improve performance through audits, supervision, and staff training.
Prepare and submit reports to regulatory bodies and stakeholders as required.
Children and Young People
Ensure each child has an individualised care plan that reflects their needs, goals, and aspirations.
Promote educational achievement, health, independence, and emotional well-being.
Build positive relationships with children, their families, and professional networks.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within required timeframe).
Significant experience of working in a residential children's care setting, including supervisory/management responsibilities.
Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, Ofsted regulations, and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
Ability to lead, inspire, and manage a diverse staff team.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Criteria
Previous experience as a Registered Manager.
Proven track record of achieving good or outstanding Ofsted inspection outcomes.
Full UK driving licence.
