Care Coordinator, Quality Assurance & Practice Lead, operational staff as required

Clinical Lead & Head of Training, Compliance & Safeguarding Lead, Social Worker

Role Purpose



The Registered Manager is responsible for the

quality, safety and effectiveness of care delivery

across the organisation. This includes the

development, implementation and review of care plans, risk assessments and medication documentation

, alongside operational leadership, staff management and regulatory compliance.

The Registered Manager holds

direct responsibility for care planning and MAR documentation

, oversight of medication administration systems, non-clinical competency sign-off, and day-to-day operational governance. The role works collaboratively with the Clinical Lead, Compliance & Safeguarding Lead and Social Worker to ensure services are safe, compliant and outcome-focused.

Key Responsibilities



Care Plans & Risk Assessments



Develop, write and update person-centred care plans and risk assessments Ensure care plans reflect assessed needs, risks, outcomes and preferences Review, quality-assure and sign off care plans and risk assessments completed by other staff Ensure documentation is accurate, up to date and effectively communicated

Medication Management & MAR Charts



Complete, review and update MAR charts as part of care planning and ongoing review Maintain oversight of medication administration processes, including eMAR systems Ensure MAR charts align with prescriptions, care plans and risk assessments Identify discrepancies, errors or trends and take corrective action Work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead on medication-related risks

Reviews & New Assessments



Lead and coordinate care reviews in line with regulatory, contractual and organisational requirements Conduct new service user assessments, including care planning, risk assessment and MAR setup Work closely with the

Social Worker

to support outcome-based reviews, best interest processes and multi-agency input Liaise with the Clinical Lead for clinical input on complex or high-risk cases

Operational Leadership & Staff Management



Provide day-to-day operational leadership of care services Line manage staff, ensuring supervision, accountability and performance management Support recruitment, induction and retention of staff Promote a culture of professionalism, responsibility and continuous improvement

Competency Oversight (Non-Clinical)



Assess and sign off non-clinical competencies, including documentation standards, care delivery and professional conduct Ensure staff understand and comply with care recording and medication documentation requirements Escalate clinical competency concerns to the Clinical Lead Contribute to improvement plans following audits, incidents or observations

Cost Control & Resource Management



Support cost control by ensuring resources are used responsibly and appropriately Ensure staff do not offer unauthorised financial incentives or concessions Monitor operational practices to prevent unnecessary expenditure Escalate cost-related concerns or patterns to the Director

Commissioner, Stakeholder & Family Liaison



Act as a key point of contact for commissioners, professionals and families regarding service delivery and quality matters Work collaboratively with the Social Worker to manage professional relationships and expectations Respond appropriately to feedback, concerns or quality-related enquiries

Incidents, Safeguarding & Complaints



Oversee the management and investigation of incidents, accidents and complaints Work closely with the

Compliance & Safeguarding Lead

and

Social Worker

to ensure concerns are managed appropriately Ensure learning is identified, actions are implemented and themes are reviewed Promote a culture of openness, reporting and learning

Policy, Procedure & Practice Compliance



Ensure staff understand and follow organisational policies and procedures Support the implementation of policies hosted on QCS Reinforce compliance through supervision, observation and performance management Address non-compliance promptly and proportionately

Safe Staffing & Rota Oversight



Maintain oversight of staffing levels to ensure safe, consistent and person-centred care delivery Work with care coordination and operational staff to address gaps or risks Ensure staffing decisions align with assessed needs and care plans

Data Protection & Information Governance



Ensure care records are accurate, secure and handled in line with data protection requirements Promote confidentiality and appropriate information sharing Address data protection concerns or breaches in line with organisational policy

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion



Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in care delivery and employment practices Ensure care is delivered without discrimination and with respect for individual needs and preferences Support reasonable adjustments for service users and staff

On-Call Responsibilities



Participate in a

remote on-call rota

, providing operational and professional advice as required Support safe decision-making outside of standard working hours Escalate concerns appropriately in line with organisational procedures

Governance & Regulatory Compliance



Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and KLOEs across

children's and adults' services

Work closely with the Compliance & Safeguarding Lead on audits, inspections and improvement plans Prepare for inspections and respond to regulatory enquiries Maintain oversight of service quality, risk and improvement actions

Essential Criteria



Proven experience as a Registered Manager in

both children's and adults' services

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or working towards) Demonstrable experience writing and overseeing care plans, risk assessments and MAR charts Strong understanding of medication management and documentation standards Experience managing staff in regulated care services In-depth knowledge of CQC requirements Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
