Bluebell Children's Care is a family-owned company. They are passionate about establishing and maintaining an exceptional children's home where children who have faced difficult beginnings can find a secure and loving environment.

This is a unique opportunity for an applicant to create an ideal nurturing, caring, and safe environment from the ground up. You will collaborate with the Responsible Individual and a supportive team dedicated to opening this new Children's Home in a fully refurbished property.

You will establish a caring home for up to three children who require permanent care or need support to transition into foster care. You will lead the team, mentoring them to provide the quality support these children deserve, making a positive impact on their lives.

We are seeking someone who is currently a registered manager with an excellent proven track record, looking for a new challenge, or an experienced deputy manager ready to step into a registered manager role.

Responsibilities



To hold and maintain their own OFSTED registration and ensure the service meets OFSTED standards. To be up to date with relevant legislation and residential care home regulations and standards and to meet the requirements. To ensure the home maintain Ofsted registration and that standards are translated into practice for staff. In line with Ofsted Care Home Regulations, to be accountable as the Registered Manager for how the home is organized, run and managed. To make independent decisions and be solely responsible for appropriate referrals into the service, suitability of placements, ensure good matching of children and that the placement meets the needs of the child's needs. Ensure children and young people receive care in line with the aims and objectives of the Children Acts 1989 & 2004, the Care Standards Act 2000, and relevant organisational policies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all residents. Manage and resolve any client issues efficiently and sensitively. Oversee all aspects of safeguarding, welfare, and well-being of children in placement. Support and participate in childcare planning meetings such as LAC Reviews, Statutory Meetings, Professionals' Meetings, and Child Protection Conferences. Allocating a Key Worker for each young person with the principal responsibility of implementing the childcare plan. Promote a positive culture of learning, development, and professional growth among staff.

Requirements



Essential Qualifications:

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management or level 4 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or A recognised Social Work qualification (DipSW / Degree or equivalent).

Experience:

At least 2 years' experience within the last 5 years in a role relevant to the residential care of children. A minimum of 12 months' experience in supervising or managing staff in a caring role.

Skills & Knowledge:

Strong understanding of regulatory and legislative frameworks governing children's residential care. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to balance professional, ethical, and operational requirements. Commitment to the ethos, vision, and values of Bluebell Childrens Care.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 47,000.00-55,000.00 per year
