About Optionz Supported Housing Ltd:



Optionz Supported Housing Ltd operate Supported Accommodation provisions offering support to 16 - 17 year olds who are leaving care or at risk of being homeless. The provision assists young people in making the transition from care to independence in a planned and supportive way. Our work with young people is aimed at enabling them to grow and develop in every aspect of their lives in preparation for independent living. Our focus is to assist and support the young person to develop and maintain as much independence and control as possible while improving the quality of their life. We are a young person-focused service where young people are fully engaged in decision-making about their support and are central to informing and shaping our services. With a solid commitment to expansion, we are extending our services across the West Midlands region. We aim to reach a broader population and positively impact even more lives.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Ofsted legislation and previous experience in residential inspections with Ofsted. The candidate will be working alongside the Business Development Manager to

expand our services

The Role:


We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced

Registered Manager

to oversee the day-to-day operations of our supported accommodation services. This key role requires someone who is not only knowledgeable about legislation and regulatory requirements but also passionate about developing services that deliver outstanding care. The successful candidate will ensure that all services comply with

The Quality Standards for Supported Accommodation for Young People

as outlined by the Care Standards Act 2000 and Ofsted regulations.

Working alongside the Business Development Manger& Director, you will be responsible for the growth and quality assurance of our services, ensuring that all operations align with our values and meet the requirements of the

Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF)

. You will play a crucial role in leading our teams, managing referrals, ensuring compliance, and working collaboratively with local authorities, stakeholders, and community services.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Regulatory Compliance:



Ensure compliance with Ofsted Quality Standards, The Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018, Statutory Guidance for Children who run away from home or go missing from home or care 2014, The national protocol on reducing unnecessary criminalisation of looked after children and care leavers, Children Act 1989, and Care Standards Act 2000. Manage matters related to child protection in adherence to current legislation and safeguarding best practices.

2. Leadership and Team Management:



Provide leadership and coaching in semi-independent supported housing practices within the homes to achieve the best outcomes for each young person. Uphold the underpinning philosophy and practice framework of the organisation, ensuring care standards are never compromised. Supervise and support staff, including conducting probationary and annual performance appraisals and facilitating staff development. Seek opportunities for personal and professional development. Be a role model for Senior Support Workers, Support Workers and be an ambassador for the service.

3. Service Delivery and Management:



Manage the supported accommodation provisions effectively and efficiently, maintaining a warm and caring environment. Oversee the approval or rejection of work and reports using Clear Care software. Oversee and actively apply for referrals. Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals supported by the service Ensure best practices through regular quality assurance inspections. Oversee rota and annual leave management to ensure full staffing at all times. Be on call for support staff who are not able to complete their shift due to extenuating circumstances. To do sleep-ins when required.

4. Compliance and Quality Assurance:



Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and standards of care. Conduct evaluations and audits to assess service quality, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures. Stay updated on regulatory requirements to ensure the organisation exceeds expectations.

5. External Relationships and Advocacy:



Collaborate with stakeholders, including Contracts and Commissioning Teams within Local Authorities, Social Services, Police, and Education providers. Advocate for young people's rights and access to community resources. Represent the organisation in public forums to promote awareness and understanding of our services.

6. Financial Management:



Manage the budget for the supported accommodation provisions and ensure financial compliance alongside the Business Development Manager

7. Staff Development and HR Support:



Monitor and support the training and development needs of the workforce to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. Manage HR processes. Recruitment of Staff. Induct new starters in accordance with company policy. Lead, motivate and direct Staff. Conduct Staff supervision and annual Staff appraisals. Develop Staff to their full potential, ensuring succession planning for the service. Ensure multidisciplinary team working is embedded in the service Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by management. Seek and attend networking events, acting as an ambassador for Optionz. Take responsibility for your professional development through performance and development reviews and undertake any relevant training Commit to achieving the relevant qualifications for the role.
