Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Your expertise in nursing and understanding of mental health will be vital in supporting patients through their recovery journey, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Duties

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with mental health conditions, assessing their needs and developing individualised care plans. Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being, documenting changes and reporting any concerns to the healthcare team. Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols and monitoring for side effects. Provide therapeutic support through one-on-one interactions and group therapy sessions, fostering a safe environment for patients to express themselves. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure holistic patient care. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications

Valid registration as a Mental Health Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Strong knowledge of patient care practices and principles related to mental health nursing. Understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to mental health conditions. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds. Ability to work effectively within a team while also demonstrating strong independent decision-making skills. Previous experience in a mental health setting is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is crucial. A compassionate approach with a genuine desire to help others improve their mental well-being.
