We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to patients experiencing mental health issues, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting recovery and rehabilitation. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver tailored treatment plans that address the individual needs of each patient.
Duties
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status and needs.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans in collaboration with patients and the healthcare team.
Administer medications and monitor their effects on patients, ensuring adherence to prescribed treatments.
Provide emotional support and counselling to patients and their families, fostering a therapeutic environment.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting observations, interventions, and progress.
Participate in regular team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and share insights on best practices.
Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies to enhance their understanding and involvement in their care.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as organisational policies.
Requirements
Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.
Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to mental health nursing.
Proven experience in patient care within a mental health setting is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records and care plans.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while also demonstrating initiative when required.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in mental health nursing.
