Job Description

Western Mount Lodge is an 18-bed mental health nursing care home situated near to Derby town center. Our customers have enduring mental health needs and many of them have been with us for years.

We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse or Registered General Nurse (RMN/RGN) to join our team. We need someone with preference for high standards and a passion for improving quality of life.

As a RMN or RGN, you will need to have a current NMC registration and a good knowledge of the most up-to-date clinical practices. An understanding of regulatory frameworks, including DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines is required - Training is also provided. Knowledge of the PCS System is beneficial but not compulsory

Registered Nurse Duties (RMN & RGN)



Ensuring the well-being of the customers, making sure their mental, physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Leading, motivating, and mentoring our team of support workers and providing clinical guidance to ensure the safe, smooth, and efficient running of the care home.

Carrying out assessments and developing, implementing, and evaluating individual care plans.

Carry out daily handovers to ensure all information is communicated & understood.

Communicate effectively with Staff, relatives, professionals, and other visitors to the home at all times.

Administration of medication - Administer prescribed medicines and document in accordance with the Company's procedure and NMC guidelines.

Employ evidence-based practice - Assess psychosocial interventions in assessing and managing mental illness of acute and enduring manner.

Monitoring work areas and practices to ensure they are safe and conform to relevant standards, policies, and legislation

RMN and RGN Requirements



Having 2 or more years' experience working as a RMN/ or RGN within the community or an in-patient setting.

Desirable : Experience in supporting individuals with Mental Health Needs Preferred but not compulsory

Computer literate

Training:



Mandatory and ongoing training is essential, we have access to lots of online courses.

Shifts:



Willing to work a Rota pattern covering predominantly afternoons, evenings, nights and weekends.

Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure (DBS).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 16.00-17.75 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 48 per week
