Exciting Opportunity - Preceptorship Midwife (Part-Time, 22.5 hours)
An exciting opportunity has become available at Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth, for a newly qualified midwife to join our team as part of a preceptorship programme.
This is a part-time post (22.5 hours per week), with an expectation to work some hours at Carmarthen, another site within the health board, to broaden your experience.
The role will include day, night, and weekend shifts, allowing you to gain confidence across the full range of maternity care.

Clinical Practice - The newly qualified midwife will be expected to fulfil the following criteria with support from preceptor and experienced midwives. Newly qualified midwife, whilst being accountable for their own clinical practice (NMC) will participate in the Midwifery Preceptorship Programme and complete within 12 months.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, compassionate care to women and their families while completing a structured preceptorship programme.
This programme includes a number of dedicated study days and preceptor-supported shifts, designed to help you develop the skills and confidence required to progress through the gateway to Band 6.
This is a part-time role (22.5 hours per week), with some hours based at Carmarthen to offer additional clinical experience.
You will work as the third midwife on each shift, gaining experience across the full spectrum of maternity care, including:
Antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care
Day Assessment Unit (DAU) and triage services
Opportunities to observe and gain experience in the on-site neonatal room
This post offers excellent support and a broad range of clinical exposure to help you build confidence and develop into a competent Band 6 midwife.
