As a Band 5 Emergency Nurse, you will be an integral part of the Emergency Department team, providing high-quality, compassionate care to adult, paediatric and Mental Health patients.
You will work within Glangwili which is Type 1 Emergency Department. This type of ED is also referred to as a Major Emergency Care Department and is designed to handle a wide range of emergency presentations, including high-acuity and complex cases. It is the most comprehensive level of emergency care provision in the NHS Wales system.
This is the main trauma unit for Hywel Dda University Health Board, which is a part of the South Wales Trauma Network. These facilities play a vital role in stabilising and managing trauma patients before transfer to specialist centres, such as the Major Trauma Centre at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, or the Trauma Unit with Specialist Services at Morriston Hospital, Swansea.
The successful candidate would be required to hold an NMC Registration and provide evidence of professional development, with a desire to work in the Emergency & Urgent Care Unit. We would welcome applications from Paediatric Nurses & Mental Health Nurses to join our dynamic team.
Ideally, you would have experience in acute care or emergency settings (desirable but not essential).
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
There will be a requirement to complete the RCN Emergency Nurse competencies, which you will be supported to achieve by the department's Practice Educator.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
