Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to join our internal agency team on a flexible basis, working as an integral part of the home team and in line with our values. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care, clinical and medical care for our residents, working collaboratively with other health care professionals and the care team to ensure residents' overall well-being.

We are an agency employing team members on flexible contracts in a range of care, kitchen, domestic and leadership roles. We are part of Each Other Care, which is a family-owned care home group offering a range of elderly and younger adult nursing and dementia care. As an agency we support the home teams by being able to offer familiar, highly trained colleagues available at short notice if required.?We support our England homes in Lancashire, South Yorkshire, Essex, and Scotland homes in Cumbernauld and Forfar.?

The home manager will work closely with your line manager, Jack Marrow, who is our agency consultant, providing specific feedback and guidance to ensure you settle well in the home and for ongoing support. Guidance and development: You will benefit from quarterly guidance and development conversations with our agency lead, to support your personal and professional development.

About the Role



We are seeking dedicated and experienced nurses to join our internal agency team on a flexible basis, working within our care homes and in line with our values. You will play a crucial role in developing, planning, and delivering high-quality, person-centred care, clinical and medical care for our residents, working collaboratively with other health care professionals and the care team.

You will collaborate with a range of health professionals to support individual residents during this stage of their lives, in alignment with our values. We utilize technology across our homes to free up time for resident care, develop our teams, and improve the quality of care. All team members receive training on relevant technology, but prior knowledge of the following systems is beneficial, though not required:

Person Centred Software (PCS)?for care planning RADAR?for managing risks, events, and safeguarding Camascope?for medication management and administration Connecteam?for accessing rotas, claiming shifts, and internal communication

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Clinical Care & Health Monitoring



Develop, review and update care plans in collaboration with senior care team, residents, families, and other professionals, taking into account residents physical and emotional wellbeing Provide direct nursing care including wound management, medication administration, continence management (catheterization) and chronic illness monitoring. Provide specialised medical care as required including PEG feeding, stoma care, Tracheostomy care & suctioning, venepuncture and cannulation. Carry out regular clinical observations and assess and document changes in residents' health. Escalate concerns to GPs, emergency services, or senior managers when necessary, making informed decisions under pressure and during emergencies.

Medication Management



Safely administer and audit medications (including PRN and controlled drugs). Maintain accurate MAR charts and follow protocols for reporting medication errors or refusals, using eMAR system (Camascope) Monitor side effects and liaise with GPs, health professionals or pharmacies as needed.

Person-Centred and Dignified Care



Promote dignity, choice, and independence in all aspects of care, working closely with the care team to plan appropriate care in line with Each Other Care values Support residents with dementia, mental health issues, or complex needs, contribution to accurate assessments of dependency Involve residents and families in care planning and decision-making.

Leadership & Team Development



Provide leadership and guidance to the team by role-modelling our values and principles, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and open communication. Support the manager in maintaining high standards of team engagement and compliance through team management, effective documentation, and constructive conversations. Inspire and guide the team to deliver compassionate, person-centred care to our residents, in line with our values. Encourage continuous feedback and reflective practice to support the development of our people, address concerns constructively, and drive ongoing improvements in care standards.

Communication & Documentation



Provide clear, accurate handovers and maintain detailed care records of care provided and residents' evolving medical needs, using centralised systems to ensure shared access to information, reduce risk of errors and enable efficient provision of care. Communicate proactively and effectively with residents, families and healthcare professionals, upholding our commitment to dignity and respect and in line with our values and tone of voice, showing curiosity and willingness to develop self and others.

Safeguarding, Compliance & professional development



Adhere to safeguarding protocols and act swiftly to protect residents, recording all compliance related information in RADAR (our compliance system) Comply with CQC and regulatory standards for medical care, maintain a safe and clean clinical environment at all times. Stay up to date with training and clinical best practices, maintaining training compliance at 90%+ and engage in additional professional development and training as required. Uphold NMC Code of Conduct and professional accountability, always maintaining confidentiality and professionalism, guiding the care team to facilitate this too.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

Qualifications & Knowledge Registered Nurse qualification. A current clear DBS and a willingness to undertake a new one for this role. Knowledge of and compliance with regulatory requirements for quality and safety, meeting CQC standards, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care and professionalism. Up to date training for key areas of care Leadership, Teamwork, and Behaviour A compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of our residents, treating everyone we support with dignity and respect. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to role model, inspire, motivate, and upskill fellow team members. A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high standards of care. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team. Experience & Rights to Work Previous experience in a nursing role. Right to work in the UK.
