We are looking for a dedicated

Registered Nurse

Key Responsibilities:1. Resident Care & Clinical Support:



Assessment & Care Planning:

Conduct initial assessments and regularly review and update care plans to meet the ongoing needs of residents. Ensure care plans are person-centered and reflect the preferences and choices of the resident.

Administering Medication & Treatment:

Safely administer prescribed medications, ensuring that records are accurately kept. Manage and monitor treatments, dressing changes, and any other prescribed clinical procedures.

Health Monitoring:

Continuously assess residents' health, identifying any changes in their condition and taking appropriate action, such as notifying the relevant healthcare professional or adjusting care plans.

End-of-Life Care:

Provide compassionate and dignified end-of-life care when required, working with families and other professionals to ensure comfort and peace during this time.

Clinical Expertise:

Offer advice and clinical guidance to the care team, ensuring that the highest standard of care is provided at all times.

2. Leadership & Staff Support:



Supervision & Mentorship:

Lead the team of healthcare assistants and junior nursing staff during shifts. Provide support and mentorship, ensuring that care staff are equipped to deliver high-quality care.

Team Coordination:

Coordinate the nursing and care team during shifts, ensuring effective communication, smooth handovers, and the efficient delivery of care.

Role Model:

Maintain high standards of nursing practice and professionalism, acting as a role model for other staff members, and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement.

Training:

Support the induction and ongoing training of new staff, ensuring that all team members are fully aware of their responsibilities and have the skills to provide excellent care.

3. Compliance & Documentation:



Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure that care is delivered in accordance with CQC (Care Quality Commission) regulations and internal quality standards. Participate in CQC inspections and audits as required.

Accurate Record-Keeping:

Maintain up-to-date, accurate clinical records for each resident, ensuring compliance with NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) guidelines and internal procedures.

Incident Reporting:

Document and report any accidents, incidents, or concerns, following company policies and protocols. Take immediate action to address concerns when needed.

4. Communication & Liaison:



Family & Resident Communication:

Build and maintain positive relationships with residents and their families. Provide updates and information regarding care plans, treatment, and any changes in health status.

Multidisciplinary Teamwork:

Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals (e.g., doctors, physiotherapists, dieticians) to ensure holistic care and support for residents.

Advocacy:

Act as an advocate for residents, ensuring their rights, wishes, and dignity are respected at all times.

5. Health & Safety:



Infection Control:

Adhere to infection control protocols and best practices to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.

Risk Management:

Identify and assess potential clinical risks to residents, ensuring that appropriate actions are taken to reduce or eliminate these risks.

Safety Standards:

Ensure that health and safety standards are maintained across the care home, including the safe use of equipment and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications and Experience:



Essential:



Registered Nurse (RN) with an active NMC pin number. Proven experience in nursing, ideally within a care home or similar healthcare setting. Knowledge of CQC regulations and care home standards. Strong clinical skills, with the ability to manage complex care needs (e.g., dementia, palliative care). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Compassionate and empathetic approach to caring for the elderly. Ability to manage time effectively, particularly in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work shifts, including full days and full-time nights, totalling 44 hours per week.

Desirable:



Experience in dementia care, palliative care, or end-of-life care. Post-registration qualifications (e.g., dementia care, clinical leadership). Experience in managing or leading a team of healthcare professionals.
