The role will be working on an inpatient unit looking after adults with an eating disorder and supporting them to recover. This involves day to day tasks such as administering medication, offering 1-1 time to patients, care and safety planning, offering carer liaison and supporting patients at the dining table for meals and snacks. The Nurse role will also involve taking on the Primary or Secondary Nurse role for patients - enabling you to get to know patients and build therapeutic relationships to support them on an individualised basis.

What you can add:



Can demonstrate clear evidence of continued professional development. Knowledge of MHA 1983 Knowledge of Eating Disorders treatments Competence with carrying out physical health monitoring such as blood pressure, pulse, respirations, ECG etc. Ability to work with patients and carers to develop care plans and risk assessments. Further training in psychosocial interventions Training in clinical risk assessment and management Experience of naso-gastric feeding Experience of phlebotomy o Understanding requirements for NMC professional Revalidation
The role will involve but not be limited to you performing the above.

What you'll need:



Experience of working in a mental health setting o Experience of working with individuals with an eating disorder
A minimum of 6 months paid experience in the field of

Child and Adolescent mental health and Psychiatry

registered nurse in an UK hospital environment within the last 3 years

Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices

*Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.

Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.*
