Job Description

Working in the Heart Centre Day ward, the post holder will be caring for patients pre and post procedure and is responsible for providing all aspects of patient care through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. They will perform scrubbed and circulating duties pertaining to interventional cardiology, sharing the responsibility for teaching this skill. They will participate in the supervision and management of junior staff. The post holder will work in The Heart Centre Day Ward caring for as well as participating in pre-assessment clinics.

The post holder will have the opportunity to work together with the Lead Nurse for cardiology and the Cardiac Care nursing Team in nurse-led clinics and other activity as appropriate and will be expected to supervise junior staff and to teach qualified and unqualified staff.
