Overview of Job Role
We are seeking a
Registered Nurse
to join us in the exciting journey of opening of Aston Manor Care Home. This pivotal role requires an individual who can lead and manage the clinical aspects of care. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of people skills and nursing knowledge to deliver high standards of care provision.
Hours of Work:
24 to 48 hours per week // Day Shifts (8am - 8pm) and Night Shifts (8pm - 8am)
Bank Shifts are also available
(Rota pattern will cover Monday - Sunday)
Competitive Pay Rate:
26.00 per hour
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure that NMC Code of Professional Conduct is adhered to and always ensure confidentiality. Ensure the requirements for revalidation are met.
Takes ownership on all aspects of delivery of nursing care and clinical decision making as Nurse in-charge.
Ensure that regulations with regard to ordering, custody, storage and administration of all drugs and medicines including controlled drugs are adhered to.
Review the daily delivery of care, including pressure area prevention, nutrition and infection prevention and control procedures. Ensure high standards of care delivery are maintained.
Ensure the ongoing safety of residents, staff and visitors through systematic assessment, monitoring and reviewing processes.
Conduct and document care and risk assessments and develop care plans related to the assessed needs and choices of individual residents.
Ensure that areas of identified risk are appropriately monitored, and outcomes recorded and acted upon. For example, fluid and nutrition charts and turning regimes etc.
Ensure accident/incident reports are written clearly and concisely and that any remedial action or learning is incorporated into care delivery.
Ensure that residents are encouraged and supported to remain as independent and active as possible.
Be knowledgeable about Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults policies and procedures and report any untoward events in accordance with the Home and Local Authority requirements.
Ensure that clinical equipment is maintained in a safe, clean and fully functional state. Report any equipment failures or damage to the Home Manager.
Ensure that clear and accurate records and communication systems relating to clinical and care delivery are maintained and effectively used.
Ensure effective and clearly documented handover systems are maintained to facilitate the effective transfer of information between staff and shifts.
Lead and supervise Senior Carers and be in-charge of running the shift and co-ordinate clinical meetings as arranged by the Home Management.
To act as a professional role model to peer groups and subordinates and other health professionals.
Carry out any duties reasonably required to ensure the smooth operation of Aston Manor.
About You
Registered Nurse with a valid and active NMC PIN is essential.
Demonstrable track record in clinical management within Care Homes.
An in-depth understanding of Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a people first approach.
Good proficiency in the use of MS Office suite and other relevant IT systems.
Ability to multitask, prioritise and take ownership of this role with confidence and discretion.
Strong planning, organisational and leadership skills.
