About the Role



Skin 55 is seeking a compassionate and motivated

Registered Nurse

with an interest or background in dermatology and oncology care to join our dynamic clinical team. As a

Skin Cancer Key Worker

, you will play a pivotal role in delivering world-class, patient-centred care while supporting the smooth running of our clinics and treatment theatres.

This is a hands-on clinical role ideal for a nurse who is confident in dermatological care, committed to patient advocacy, and passionate about improving outcomes for patients diagnosed with skin cancer. You will also support education, mentorship, and the professional development of junior staff.

This is a

, and the post holder will be required to wear the provided uniform.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care & Patient Support



Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in line with

NMC guidelines

and

Skin 55 policies

. Act as a first point of contact for patients and families, offering guidance, support, and relevant health education. Assist with patient preparation and clinical activities, including

minor surgeries

,

laser treatments

,

phototherapy and photodynamic therapy.

Provide specialist support and care for patients with skin cancer, fulfilling the role of

Key Worker

. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records, treatments, and consultations. Administer and supply medications in accordance with Skin 55 protocols.

Professional Development & Leadership



Act as a role model and mentor to junior nursing staff, sharing knowledge and best practice. Take responsibility for personal learning and continuous professional development. Contribute to the training and onboarding of new and temporary staff.

Communication & Collaboration



Maintain effective communication with patients, families, consultants, and the wider multidisciplinary team. Anticipate and manage communication barriers with empathy and professionalism. Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their rights, choices, beliefs, and preferences are respected and supported. Resolve informal complaints where possible, escalating appropriately when required.

Safety & Infection Control



Support infection control standards and hygiene practices throughout the clinic. Promote a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Identify and report safety incidents immediately to the Lead Nurse.

Resource & Equipment Management



Assist in the maintenance, rotation, and ordering of clinical stock and equipment. Promote economical use of resources and reduce waste across the service.

What We're Looking For



NMC Registered Nurse (essential) Experience in dermatology, oncology, or surgical nursing (preferred) Strong interpersonal and communication skills A team player who is flexible, reliable, and proactive Commitment to continuous learning and development Confidence in working independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
