Accept delegated responsibility for specific/activities from the senior nurse in charge and work in line with Trust policies, objectives, protocols, and local guidelines whilst also being aware of the importance of their role in supporting members of the team and always Provide high quality clinical care to patients in line with the Trusts values and in adhering to the Trust values and in accordance with NMC regulations.
Work autonomously and as part of a team to always deliver high standards of care to patients and their carers.
Communicate in line with Trust values, to patients, carers and staff at all times. Take every opportunity to continue to develop, practice and expand their own general and specialist nursing skills.
Support clinicians in the management and delivery of specialist gynaecology and early pregnancy clinics and the care and assessment for this group of patients.
Maintain high standards of professional and ethical responsibility and accountability and be aware of the medico-legal aspects of nursing in line with professional regulating and local guidance

Report accidents, incidents and complaints and provide initial support for members of staff or patients involved in line with trust policy.
Maintain clear and accurate documentation in line with NMC and trust standards
Be aware of clinical governance and the impact it has on patient care
Understand local audit processes and takes opportunities to participate in local and trust wide audits
To familiarise and read all required local and trust wide policies, procedures and guidelines

Take responsibility for the teaching and education of pre-registration students acting as a mentor.
Communication
Ensure communication is effective between the patient, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team and ensure appropriate nursing input into patient care discussions
Ensure communication is used effectively in the interest of patient care including the use of clinical incident reporting as necessary
Communicate handover of care in a professional manner

Education and Development
Be responsible for and demonstrate personal professional development, maintain up to date clinical skills and ensure mandatory training is always current.
Be aware of current developments within gynaecology, the nursing profession and within the NHS
Participated in team and MDT meetings
Participate in established research projects and clinical audit in local area.
Assist in on-going development of the unit as a positive learning environment
Ensure own appraisal is always in date and personal development plan is completed
Work in a supportive way with learners and HCAs providing knowledge and supervision.
