We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team in the community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and a thorough understanding of human anatomy. This role requires exceptional clinical skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to critically ill patients.
Responsibilities
You will be supporting a 5 year old boy who requires high dependency care and support. As a Nurse you will be responsible for all clinical intervention and will work 2-1 with a Health Care Assistant.
It is vital that you are well versed in the following: Nippy 4, nebulizer, Inhaler, cough assist , oral suctioning, deep Nasal Suctioning , oxygen, intermittent catheterization, enema, transanal Irrigation, digital rectal stimulation, abdominal massage, PEG feeding, medication administration, and Buccal.
This client has quite critical health conditions, which include a Hypoxic Brain Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Dystonia, Gut Dysfunction, Visual Impairment, Hearing Loss, an unsafe swallow, frequent seizures, postural support (24-7), migrated hips, gastro bleeding and IBD.
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the ICU, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Monitor and assess patient conditions, responding promptly to changes in status.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Shift Pattern
To be confirmed most likely 12hour shifts days and nights
Qualifications
Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Proven experience in an ICU setting is preferred but not essential for candidates demonstrating strong clinical skills.
In-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to critical care nursing.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
