Job Description

Wilson lodge is a 30-bed nursing home. We offer care to those ranging in age from 25 upwards who have nursing and mental health needs. We have a well-trained staff team and pride ourselves in offering a welcoming, caring and professional service. Experience working in a similar setting would be an advantage but is not essential, we are more interested in recruiting the person with the right personal attributes for the role.

We are looking for Registered Nurse (RGN/RNMH/RNLD) for working nights. You will need to be flexible and able to work weekends on a rota basis.

Registered Nurse (Wilson Lodge)



- You must be willing to complete basic and fundamental training. This will consist of online training and in-house training.

- You must always act in a professional manner according to NMC Codes of Conduct. This includes keeping yourself up-to-date with current evidence-based practice and taking responsibility for your own CPD

- You must be caring, friendly and approachable, we pride ourselves on the relationships we have built with our residents

- You must have good and effective communication skills. We are also looking for basic computer literacy skills and to be fluent in English.

- You must be willing to learn and agree to our policies and practices and follow them to a high standard.

- You must be able to work well within an established team of management, nurses, care staff, activities and ancillary staff.

- You must be reliable and follow our sickness and lateness policies.

- At Wilson lodge we work alongside many healthcare professionals. As a nurse at Wilson lodge, you will be expected to work alongside them effectively and professionally.

- You must be able to administer prescribed medications safely and efficiently according to NMC Code of Practice (including oral medications, controlled medications, injections and insulin)

-Assisting and supporting the management team in upholding standards which comply with outside agencies such as CQC and ICB (previously CCG)

- You will be familiar with the concept of person-centred care and you will be responsible for care planning for a group of residents as their named nurse. This will be on an electronic system which you will be trained for.

-You will be able to monitor the physical, mental and emotional health of residents and intervene accordingly.

- You will be competent in accurate record-keeping and will be required to carry out verbal handover to the nurse taking over from you.

- You will meet and build relationships with our resident's families and help and support them were needed.

- You will be responsible for those on your shift. In collaboration with the senior care staff, It is your role to make sure that your team are working effectively together.
