Job Title: Registered Nurse -Paediatric A & E

Trust Location: Surrey and Sussex Healthcare

Pay Rates: 17.46-27.94 Holiday paid separately

Shift Patterns: Early, Lates, Nights, Long Days, Weekends & Bank Holidays

A&E plays a pivotal role within the NHS, being on hand 24 hours a day to provide emergency care to those most in need. This demanding and intense environment also gives our specialised nurses a huge sense of accomplishment and reward.

As a Paediatric A&E Nurse, no two days are the same. You will be providing urgent medical care to infants, children, and young people in an emergency department, assessing and treating a wide range of illnesses and injuries, from minor cuts to serious trauma. Key duties include triaging patients to prioritize urgent cases, administering medications, performing procedures like wound treatment and IVs, monitoring a child's condition, and providing emotional support and clear explanations to the child and their family during stressful situations.

A minimum of 6 months experience working within a busy Emergency department and Effective communication skills are vital.

What you'll be responsible for:?

Assessing and monitoring patient conditions Checking symptoms and vital signs and arranging diagnostic tests Recognising, responding to, and managing emergency situations Plan, deliver and evaluate standards of evidence-based nursing care
The role will involve but not be limited to you performing the above.?

You'll need to have the following qualification/experience:

A minimum of 6 months paid experience in a Paediatric A&E nursing environment within a hospital in the last 3 years Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices The ability to ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines Immediate Life-support
