Ward 10 is in the process of developing a 6 bed Respiratory Support Unit (RSU) within the Ward 10 template.

An RSU is an area of enhanced care that enable a higher level of monitoring and respiratory intervention than would be expected for a routine ward environment.

Welsh Skills Desirable:

This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. For more information, see 'Welsh Language Guidance' in the documents right at the bottom.

We care for a variety of patients with both acute and long term conditions including patients stepping down from ITU/HDU.

We are a 28 bed ward incorporating seven monitored beds which provide the facility to offer non-invasive ventilation (NIV), continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and specialist high flow oxygen in the ward setting. We have strong links with both the hospital respiratory nurse specialists and community staff to ensure best treatment and continuity.

We require enthusiastic motivated individuals who have the ability and passion to work within our friendly ward team. Acute Respiratory Medicine is continuously expanding its service and we require staff nurses who have the ambition to help drive these changes and help expand the service we offer. Commitment to undertake ongoing training and development is essential. We offer both ward based training and customised respiratory study days developed by our ward team and specialist nurses.

You should be motivated, keen to learn and ready to embrace change. We are able to offer both full and part-time posts within our team.
