Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care and anatomy knowledge, ensuring the highest standards of safety and comfort for patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role is vital in providing support to the surgical team and facilitating optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use. Assist surgeons during operations by providing instruments, sutures, and other necessary supplies. Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition throughout the surgical procedure, responding swiftly to any changes or emergencies. Collaborate with anaesthetists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care before, during, and after surgery. Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes. Maintain accurate records of patient information, surgical procedures, and any complications that may arise during surgery. Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the operating room environment.

Experience

A valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) is essential. Previous experience in an operating room setting is highly desirable but not mandatory; newly qualified nurses are encouraged to apply. Strong knowledge of anatomy is required to effectively assist in surgical procedures. Demonstrated ability in patient care, with excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and team members effectively. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
