We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Inpatient Unit in Taunton.
Part and full time hours can be considered. Shifts are offered on a rota basis to cover the 24/7 service and include days, nights, and weekends
We offer a pay progression pathway which aligns with increasing knowledge, skill and leadership. You will also receive the following unsocial hours payments:

  • 30% for all time on a Saturday and any weekday after 8pm and before 6am.
  • 60% for all time on a Sunday and Public Holidays

Main duties of the job
Based within our patient focused Inpatient Unit team, you will play a key role by delivering nursing care that is patient-centred and holistic.
Your day to say work will involve:
  • Making initial and maintaining ongoing assessments for all patients.
  • Providing leadership and supervision to the wider nursing team, organising evidence based, patient centred care.
  • Advising and supporting on the physical, emotional, spiritual, psychological and social needs of families, carers and bereaved relatives.
  • Maintaining accurate notes using appropriate Hospice recording systems.
  • Assisting with the admission and discharge of patients.
  • Advising on the support and benefits that may be available to patients.
  • Undertaking all aspects of nursing activity including pain relief, symptom control, wound dressings, mouth care & nutrition needs, moving and handling, personal care, infection control, bowel management, and syringe pumps.
