Are you friendly, keen to learn, and a team player? If so keep reading as this could be your opportunity to join our well established team here on Ward 7 FGH. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic staff nurse to join our team. We are a busy 36 bedded Respiratory and General Medicine Ward.

The main duties of the role are:

Plan and deliver high quality of care to patients adhering to the trust policies and procedures. Maintain a high standard of documentation Demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal Plan and deliver safe admissions and discharges Be responsible for the delegation of tasks to other members of the team Work well as a team player but also demonstrate abilities to work alone. Work with other members of the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver the best outcomes for our patients.

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.



FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.



WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.



All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

As a staff nurse on Ward 7 you will be responsible for :

The planning, organisation and delivery of care to patients, assessing individual needs to develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.



You may depending upon experience also be responsible for supervision of junior staff within the team.



Excellent communication skills are required and you must have the ability to work well on your own initiative or as part of a team.



You should possess good organisational skills.



You must be clinically up to date with nursing skills and motivated to develop professionally.
