Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated registered nurse to join our team on ward 37, a specialist dementia and delirium ward.



You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred care to patients in a dynamic clinical environment. As a Registered Nurse on our dementia and delirium ward, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients with complex emotional and physical needs.

Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures



Maintain a safe and clean working environment



Undertake a wide range of diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, visual fields, intra-ocular pressures following the completion of a robust training program.



Support care for patients with eye emergencies, both during the working day and in regular overnight on-calls to support the medical team.



Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.



Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.



Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient



Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct and The Trust's Values (kindness, openness, excellence).



Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands



Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures
