Job Description

Due to service expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technicians to join our team.



We welcome applicants from community or other pharmacy sectors, and previous hospital experience is not essential.



This is a Band 4/5 progression post, with Band 5 covering accredited checking (if not already achieved) and leadership development for those already holding ACT status.



You will complete a comprehensive in-house competency programme, including supervisory and leadership training, to equip you with the skills needed for hands-on line management once competent.

Provide excellent patient care for inpatients, outpatients and external units.



Work with the EPIC electronic prescribing system and Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets to deliver an accurate, timely and cost-effective pharmacy service.



Duties include accurate labelling, dispensing and checking of a wide range of prescriptions, including controlled drugs, clinical trials, TPN, chemotherapy, home IV therapies and palliative care medicines.



Medicines management rotations will offer direct patient contact, including taking medication histories, medicines reconciliation, supporting safe and correct use of prescribed medicines and counselling patients on new treatments.



A competency unit will be provided for each area to ensure full training is completed and competence is demonstrated before independent working is expected.

The post holder will be a GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician, responsible for delivering high-quality, safe and efficient pharmacy services.



They will demonstrate excellent communication skills, accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of their work.



The role requires the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a large, diverse team.



The post holder will follow established procedures, uphold professional standards and support the wider pharmacy service as needed.
