Registered Veterinary Nurse – Ashington And Storrington

Ashington, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Independent practice. Genuine community. Clinical freedom. A three day week that actually feels sustainable.

If You Are Ready For Nursing To Feel Like Nursing Again

If you are an experienced RVN who loves your work but is tired of feeling stretched, rushed, or unheard, this might be the shift you have been looking for. A place where you can show up as yourself, use your full skill set, and feel genuinely valued for the care you give.

The Opportunity

We are working with an independent practice in the Ashington and Storrington area that has built something rare in today's veterinary world. A place where clinical freedom is protected, people are kind by default, and nurses play a central role in patient care. Their mission is simple. To treat animals and their owners with empathy, respect, and honesty, and to create a workplace where the team feels connected, supported, and proud of the work they do.

This is not a role created to plug a rota gap. They are looking for an RVN who genuinely wants to be part of a close, collaborative team. Someone who values humility, communication, work ethic, and kindness as much as clinical competence. Someone who wants to grow, contribute, and build a long term home.

Picture yourself splitting your time between two welcoming sites, both designed with a warm, home like feel. Picture being surrounded by people who celebrate your ideas, who encourage your development, and who care as much about your wellbeing, as they do about your clinical skills. That is the day to day reality here.

Why This Role Is Different

A place that feels good to work in

Purpose built clinics and state of the art hospitals designed to reduce stress and provide a calm, comforting atmosphere. A genuine home from home feel that you notice the moment you walk through the door.

Nursing that stretches and inspires you

First opinion and referral exposure, including medical and surgical cases, advanced imaging, and rehabilitation. The chance to develop special interests with full support from a team that believes in CPD and invested growth.

A team that lifts each other up

A culture built on humility, respect, empathy, communication, and kindness. Collaboration with onsite referral and emergency teams, creating continuity for patients and learning opportunities for you.

Work life balance that you can actually feel

A true three day week. No routine out of hours. You are only an occasional last resort backup for the emergency team, which is rarely used. Equal inpatient care rota with time back for weekends worked.

Your Journey Here

In Your First Month

You will get to know the team, the flow of the two sites, and the systems that support calm, organised clinical care. You will settle into the rhythm of your three day week and begin to build relationships with clients and colleagues.

In Your First Three Months

You will feel confident across both sites, contributing fully to inpatient care, theatre, imaging, and consultations. You will begin to explore CPD options, mentoring pathways, or areas of nursing you want to deepen.

In Your First Six Months

You will be a trusted and valued member of the team, contributing ideas, shaping improvements, and potentially progressing toward leadership, coaching, or certificate level development depending on your interests.
