Purpose-led practice. Proper nursing autonomy. A four-day week where your skills genuinely matter.
If You Want Your Nursing to Mean Something Again
If you are an RVN who wants to use your full skillset, not just keep things ticking over, and you believe veterinary care should be accessible to everyone, this role will resonate with you. This is a position for nurses who want to feel proud of the difference they make every day.
The Opportunity
We are working with a purpose-driven veterinary practice in Ashton-under-Lyne, that has built something genuinely different. This is a clinic shaped around values, not profit targets, where nurses are trusted, respected, and encouraged to practise proper, hands-on nursing.
You will be joining a well-established nursing team within a large, well-equipped clinic that sees a wide mix of medical and surgical cases. The caseload is varied and meaningful, and the team shares a collective commitment to doing the right thing for pets and their owners.
This is not a hierarchical environment. Everyone has a voice here, regardless of job title. The focus is on teamwork, shared responsibility, and delivering high clinical standards without losing sight of compassion and sustainability.
Why This Role Is Different
A Clinic Built for Quality Care
This is a spacious, modern practice with five consulting rooms, two fully equipped theatres, and a dedicated dental suite. Separate dog and cat wards ensure calm, comfortable inpatient care, and the layout genuinely supports good nursing workflows.
A Diverse and Interesting Caseload
You will be involved in both medical and surgical nursing, with exposure to advanced procedures. An on-site orthopaedic surgeon adds real depth to the caseload and creates opportunities to develop your clinical confidence and technical skills.
Nursing Is Valued Here
This is a place where nurses are encouraged to think, contribute, and develop. There is no rigid hierarchy. Collaboration is the norm, and your ideas and experience are welcomed.
A Values-Led Organisation
As a Community Interest Company, the practice exists to remove barriers to veterinary care. Free consultations and transparent pricing allow the clinical team to focus on patient welfare, not upselling. If values alignment matters to you, this is a rare opportunity.
Your Journey Here
In Your First Month
You will settle into the team, learn the systems, and get comfortable with the clinic's way of working. Support is readily available, and there is no pressure to hit the ground running alone.
By Three Months
You will be confidently managing your nursing responsibilities across medical and surgical cases, contributing to inpatient care, and starting to explore CPD options aligned with your interests.
By Six Months
You will be a trusted, established member of the team, fully embedded in the culture, with the opportunity to pursue funded certificates or further development if that is where you want to take your career.
