Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the necessary skills to assist in providing high-quality veterinary services. As a Veterinary Nurse, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures while ensuring the comfort and safety of our animal patients. Our practice is keen to help nurses develop their schedule 3 procedures- including stitching, minor lump removals and initial dentals etc.

The role involves OOH's on a rotating basis, and 1 in 5 Saturday mornings (9-12pm).

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during consultations, examinations, and surgical procedures. Prepare animals for surgery and monitor them during anaesthesia. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. Conduct laboratory tests and analyses on samples as needed. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Provide post-operative care and educate pet owners on health management. Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the veterinary practice, including equipment sterilisation. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' health and treatment plans.
Qualifications

Relevant qualifications in veterinary nursing or equivalent experience in a veterinary setting. Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures, laboratory techniques, and animal care practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to empathise with pet owners. Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
