Grade UE06 salary: 34,610 to 39,906 per annum pro rata

CMVM / R(D)SVS / Hospital for Small Animals

Part-Time: 22.5 hours per week, with additional 1 in 4 Saturday mornings

Fixed Term: 14 month (Maternity Cover)

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a general practice nurse for a 14 month fixed term maternity cover to join our team.


The Dick Vet General Practice (DVGP) is a first opinion practice within the Hospital for Small Animals.


You will receive comprehensive training and induction with friendly, knowledgeable staff. You need the ability to work under your own initiative and be an active member of the nursing and DVGP team. You will be required to work primarily in our dog and cat practice (DVGP) but nursing support in other areas of the hospital may occasionally be required.

The post holder will participate in a Saturday morning rota on a shared basis with existing practice nursing staff. Flexibility in working hours (day shifts only) will be required.



The salary range for this post is 34,610 - 39,906 pro rata per annum.

Your skills and attributes for success:

Must be an RCVS registered veterinary nurse (RVN) Excellent organisational and communications skills are essential Keen dedication to teaching the next generation of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses is a must. General nursing experience Organisational skills

Our nurses cover one weekend shift in 4 weeks, paid as overtime or Time Off In Lieu if preferred. No additional on call or out of hours is required, however additional shift cover opportunities will available, accruing paid overtime for additional hours worked. Holiday entitlement 36 days + 4 days public holiday (pro rata)
