We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team of 12 RVNs and 2 SVNs.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients while assisting veterinarians in clinical procedures. This position requires a blend of technical skills and a genuine love for animals, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing during their time at our clinic.
Actively encouraged nursing team in all clinical areas with no reception rotation required.
Generous CPD allowance and opportunities to teach SVN's if you are a clinical coach.
Salary from 27K dependant on experience.
Duties
Assist veterinary surgeons during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies for diagnostic tests.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinary surgeon.
Monitor the health and behaviour of animals pre- and post-surgery.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Provide support to pet owners by explaining treatment plans and answering questions.
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the clinic, including sterilisation of instruments.
Participate in the training of student veterinary nurses as required.
Qualifications
A recognised RVN qualification and previous experience in veterinary nursing is essential.
Strong laboratory skills, including familiarity with diagnostic testing procedures.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and team members.
A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
