Registered Veterinary Nurse | Flexible Hours
Job Description
A small, independent mixed veterinary practice is known for its friendly team and commitment to providing a personal, high standard of care to both clients and their animals. It operates as a first-opinion practice, with access to visiting specialists and surgeons as needed.
Facilities include digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory equipment (Idexx and Axiom), multi-parameter monitoring, and other essential diagnostic tools.
This role offers the opportunity to join a close-knit, supportive team dedicated to excellent patient and client care. The successful candidate will assist in daily clinical operations, work alongside reception to ensure a welcoming environment, and support veterinary surgeons both in consults and during procedures.
| WORKING HOURS |
Monday to Friday (some flexibility) Working hours between 8am-6.30pm Maximum 1 in 3 Saturdays (9am-6pm)
| RESPONSIBILITIES |
Assist with clinical procedures in line with the RCVS Code of Conduct Prepare theatre and maintain surgical equipment Monitor anaesthesia and support use of diagnostic tools Deliver high-quality pre- and post-operative care Support consultations and occasional house visits Carry out in-house lab testing (e.g. biochemistry, cytology, urinalysis) Maintain hygiene protocols and assist with stock control Support front-of-house tasks such as phones and booking Help train and mentor junior staff and students

Communicate effectively with clients and team members Show compassion, initiative, and adaptability Work well both independently and as part of a team Be willing to assist across all areas of the practice Ideally have experience, though confident newly qualified RVNs will be considered Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to transport
