Registered Veterinary Nurse

Maternity Cover (with possibility of hours on a permanent basis after the 12 months)

Immediate Start.

We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified Veterinary Nurse to join our 4.5 vet RCVS accredited, mixed practice (60% small animal, 25% farm, 15% equine). The practice is independantly owned (i.e. not a corporate!)

You'll be based at our well equipped surgery in Knaresborough (we don't have any branches) where you will work as one of four qualified veterinary nurses. Participation in an out-of-hours rota will be required but it is rare that you will actually be called. You will not have to take client's calls out of hours.

We have plenty of toys for you to play with. We've got full in-house haematology, biochemistry and urinalysis plus two digital x-ray systems (one purchased just this year and one portable for equine use), ultrasound with colour Doppler, a 3-meter video endoscope (and a 4mm brochoscope on order), fully computerised practice management system (with laptops in the vets' cars), two operating rooms (one with a heated operating table), piped gas anaesthetic system, pulse oximeter and another ultrasound scanner for cattle fertility work.

CPD is encouraged and paid for.

You will find Knaresborough and the surrounding area full of opportunities for leisure and relaxation for you to enjoy in your time off. If you like the urban lifestyle, then York, Harrogate and Leeds are all easily accessible. If the rural life is more your thing, then the Yorkshire Dales are on your doorstep and the Yorkshire Moors and Lake District are within easy driving distance.
