Job Description

Medivet Matlock is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our experienced and supportive team. Situated in the picturesque town of Matlock, our spacious and well-located clinic provides a great environment for delivering excellent care and developing your nursing skills.


The practice features three consult rooms, ample parking, and a strong, close-knit team made up of 1 Veterinary Surgeon, 3 Client Care Assistants, 3 Registered Veterinary Nurses, and a Patient Care Assistant. We're equipped with the standard facilities to support a balanced caseload, allowing the team to work closely together and provide personalised care to every patient.


This is an 11month fixed term contract position, working 40 hours over five days.

Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:

Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients. Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity. Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities. Deliver patient monitoring and care. Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team. Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care. Dispense and check medication. Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards. Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience

RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse. Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care. Experienced in working effectively as part of a team. Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency. Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
