The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated oncology nursing team at the Hospital for Small Animals. Our ideal candidate will show initiative, have the ability to work well under pressure and work well both in a small team as well as being self-sufficient. We are looking for someone with a keen interest in Oncology, ideally with previous referral experience but this is not essential.

The Riddell-Swan Veterinary Cancer Centre is one of the largest oncology centres in Europe and has more than a decade's experience in providing world-class care for pets diagnosed with cancer.

Our team comprises both of European and American board-certified Specialist clinicians and dedicated oncology veterinary nurses and we collaborate with referring veterinarians to diagnose and treat pets, while prioritising quality of life.

We work closely with owners to ensure that they are able to make informed decisions on treatment options, as well as understanding the prognosis of the pet's particular cancer. This ensures that we have the best therapeutic plan for each pet and that we involve owners and the referring vet in every stage of the treatment.

Extensive training will be provided, with opportunities to shadow experienced nursing staff across all areas of the hospital.

Your skills and attributes for success:

Being an RCVS registered veterinary nurse is essential. Excellent organisational and communications skills are essential. Keen dedication to teaching the next generation of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses is essential.
